A walk around the periphery of the constituency
of Malviya Nagar
(2008)
walk as action and map
Executed during
a residency at the Khoj International Artists Residency, A
walk around the periphery of the constituency of Malviya
Nagar was inspired by the lack of available data
about the general population of Delhi. Seeing this lack
as a political invalidation of the local population, The
walk attempts to count and map overlooked people and situations.
It involved a slow walk over many days along the 40 kilometre
circumference of this political zone. Shanties, vendors,
smells, certain trees and plants were arbitrarily mapped
en route.
